Listening: What Would You Say to the Future?

At a Table 2:45-4:45, roaming before, Street Works, El PuEnte, Global Citizens’ Assembly

At our storytelling station, the interviewer isn’t one person, it’s the whole community. We’ll kick things off with a few questions from our team and festival co-designers, then invite everyone who stops by to toss their own questions into the mix. We’ll pull cards at random from the “fishbowl,” so every voice shapes what comes next. And we’ll hang a community clothesline with photos and messages, for all to see.

Each story we collect will help spark future projects, strengthen public conversations, and imagine what listening looks like from the street up.

You can jump in two ways:

  • Write a short answer and clip it to our community clothesline. Optional: Have your photo taken to go with your message, so we can create a neighbourhood photo gallery.

  • Share a quick reflection on camera (just a couple of minutes, and you can choose to be named or anonymous).

Some sample questions:

  • Who are you and why are you here?

  • How would you describe this neighborhood to someone on the other side of the world?

  • What does people power mean to you?

  • What is something that you experienced today that inspired you to imagine what is possible to create in our city?

  • What did you witness/experience today that you would be excited to replicate or scale in other public spaces in the city?

  • If you were Mayor for a day, what would you change in our streets and public spaces? Or, who from your community would you nominate to be Mayor and why?!
