Workshop: Electricity Basics
12-12:55PM, New York Power Authority
This interactive lesson introduces attendees to the fundamentals of electricity through real-world applications and hands-on learning. Students explore key concepts such as voltage, current, resistance, and circuit design while building light-up models of the NYC skyline and a New York State electricity transmission map.
Along the way, they investigate how electricity is generated, transmitted, and stored using renewable energy sources. The session emphasizes career connections in energy and engineering, making it a powerful introduction to STEM pathways and NYPA’s role in a clean energy future that will help to power communities across New York.
