What is environmental justice?
All day, by NY Renews
Have you felt the effects of environmental injustice in your backyard? The New York City Mayor's Office of Environmental Justice recently concluded that approximately 49% of New Yorkers live in environmental justice communities, bearing the brunt of exposure to neighborhood pollution, power plant fumes, and health issues like asthma.
That’s why NY Renews — a coalition of nearly 400 climate, labor, youth, and community groups, and the force behind the nation’s most progressive climate law — is hosting an interactive session at Street Works Earth on environmental injustice in New York City. Come by our station to talk about the fight for climate justice, from Brooklyn to Buffalo!
