Time Bank
Street Works is creating a time bank(s) for Queens, starting with Jackson Heights, which is near where many of our community members live. Today, we’re looking for organizers reflecting Jackson Heights’ diverse community who are willing to dedicate 2-3 hours a month outside of meeting from February—September 2026 to building it from scratch. These hours translate into time credits received.

Initiated by Meredith Faltin, we’re exploring what it would take to start a neighborhood timebank, a system where one hour of your help = one hour of someone else’s help. We don’t need to exchange money to support one another!
