Call for Art with CRECE in Queens
CRECE and Street Works are building a commonly shared directory of artists interested in presenting work at CRECE's beautiful community arts space and at Street Works arts events throughout the year.
The directory reflects our common commitment to building relationships and strengthening a network of artists who are interested in participatory and socially engaged work. We encourage artists to join and volunteer at both our events to understand whether our programs are a fit. Together, we aim to:
Support participatory and community-centered artistic practices.
Connect artists with exhibitions, performances, workshops, festivals, collaborative projects, and other creative initiatives in Queens.
Foster collaborations between artists, neighbors, and community organizations.
Increase visibility for artists who are committed to community-centered work.
Build a long-term creative network that works in solidarity to serve Queens.
About the Form
This form is open to all artists, but strong preference is given to artists interested in contributing long term to Street Works / CRECE’s communities, and living in Queens.
This is primarily a non-stipend opportunity, but if we raise money we will share!
Artists are responsible for transportation, installation, deinstallation of their work
Artists must secure their own insurance/liability coverage if required
We cannot guarantee selection or timing
About CRECE
CRECE is a community-based cultural center in Jackson Heights that supports arts, education, and community organizing. It provides space for artists, neighbors, and organizations to gather, create, learn, and celebrate the diverse cultures of Queens. Their new space was designed in deep collaboration with the Corona community.
About Street Works
Street Works is a group of artists and neighbors helping our communities creatively connect, collaborate, and take action on the issues that matter in their lives. We organize street festivals, mutual aid efforts, and cultural research that serve justice and grow into long-term neighborhood projects.

Los artistas interesados en participar en Street Works Earth 2026 (20/9, con 26/9 o 27 como fechas alternativas en caso de lluvia) deben presentar sus solicitudes antes del 20 de agosto.
