A2: Anthropocene Alliance
A2 has more than 400 member-communities in all U.S. states and territories. They are impacted by flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, drought and heat — all compounded by reckless development and climate change.
The goal of A2 is to help communities fight back. We do that by providing scientific, technical, fundraising and other guidance, and by helping them establish State Organizing Committees (SOCs).
The latter are voluntary associations of A2 members who wish to build their grassroots bases and engage in statewide campaigns for environmental protection and social justice. In the face of federal opposition, A2 fiercely affirms the rights of our members to engage in nonpartisan, legal, direct action (public protest) to advance the goals of members.
