BronxWorks helps individuals and families in Bronx, NYC improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger Bronx community.
Since 1972, it has helped tens of thousands of Bronx residents with programs spanning many areas of community support.
Housing
Operates the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) to engage people living on the streets around the clock and help transition them into housing.
Manages emergency family shelters and connects clients with caseworkers to plan a path to independent living.
Offers Homebase, NYC DHS’s citywide prevention program in targeted ZIP codes, providing personalized eviction-prevention assistance including mediation, legal aid, short-term financial help, and budgeting support
Health
Care coordination and community nutrition programs including farm stands, maternal and infant health services, family wellness events, and cooking demos to address food justice and health equity.
Legal
Provides specialized legal units addressing crime victims, domestic violence, housing law, and immigration law advising and representation.
Workforce Development
Offers job-readiness support: resume/interview prep, training, internships, youth employment, GED prep, tax & financial counseling, and connections to employers.
Elders & Youth
Serves over thousands of youth annually across all ages (preschool to 24), with early childhood learning, after-school programs, community centers, swim lessons, leadership, college prep, and workforce readiness.
Programs for seniors (60+) include hot meals, recreational activities, mental health counseling, elder abuse protection, minor home repairs, and housing support.
