NYC Public Schools Office of Student Pathways
NYC Public Schools Office of Student Pathways works to disrupt persistent inequities in college and career pathways so students graduate with a foundation of academic excellence integrated with real world skills and experience, a head start on college and career, and a strong plan.
We work with our students, families, educators, and strategic partners across NYC to reimagine what’s possible in K-14 education and beyond, ensuring each student experience is career-connected and future-facing.
NYC Kids RISE Save for College
NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program provides resources and support to help families activate and utilize their student's college savings account. This includes direct assistance from school staff and the NYC Kids RISE team, as well as online tools and virtual workshops.
Provides every eligible kindergarten student in an NYC public school (including participating charter schools) with an NYC Scholarship Account.
Students are automatically enrolled with an initial $100 allocation from NYC Kids RISE unless a family chooses to opt out.
The funds in the scholarship account are invested in an NY 529 Direct Plan, and can be used for a wide variety of college and career training expenses nationwide.
No deposit, Social Security Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is required to activate the initial account.
