Western Queens Community Land Trust

Western Queens Community Land Trust (WQCLT) is a community-based organization working to create permanently affordable spaces for people in Western Queens to live and work in.

We're currently working to convert a 675,000 square foot public building in LIC into an affordable hub for artists, artisans, local manufacturers, food makers, worker co-ops, and more. We are also on a path to secure a private building that would house both families and a mutual aid organization, all at below-market rates.

WQCLT also advocates for land policy issues with local and State governments, working within coalitions that fight for laws and regulations that preserve affordability and empower community control over land in New York City.
